Cassowary (Casuarius) is a large flightless bird. It inhabits tropical forests of northeastern Australia, New Guinea and nearby islands. It resembles an ostrich with bright colouring and large bone helmet. The head and neck are bare and tinted with bright blue, orange, red and sometimes green colours. A red skin bag is hanging from his neck. Its wings are underdeveloped and have a claw on their big finger. The cassowary looks like the extravagant dinosaur. It as high as a human. Although cassowary is usually shy, it is the most dangerous bird to human.1)In New Guinea, the natives use the sharp cassowary talons to make spears and fighting picks. It has powerful legs with huge sharp dagger-like claws. Jumping on the enemy can inflict fatal wounds. A cassowary is touchy and can strike suddenly, for no apparent reason.
The degree of cassowary is associated with a large jump in unexpected circumstances. It attracts aid, gives energy, happy projects and successful doings. It suddenly brings heritage, good career and elevated position, but also quick fall from office, reaching all the way down to complete destruction of dignity and misery. Rope ladder is one of its symbols. It indicates unstable and rapid climbing.
Cassowaries can develop the dizzying speed of fifty km per hour in tropical thicket and leap up to one and a half meter. They are seen running leant forward into the woods. Their helmet probably helps them in drilling their way through the undergrowth and in softening the blows of trees they ran into. The cassowary-persons can also be quite piercing and disruptive.
Ancients describe the bird as an ostrich-cock. Interestingly, they had knowledge of the Australian fauna. Obviously, ancient civilizations have visited Australia and probably in Persia (nowadays Iran) at the time of Achaemenid Empire (550–330 BC) and Sasanian Empire (224–651) and had zoos.
For some reason, cassowary is associated with not very good qualities. It is lazy, squabbles, squawks, barks in vain, pokes its beak everywhere, behaves silly and asks for trouble. Sometimes it is foolhardy and even offensive, for which receives blows on its head and sometimes it is timid. Like the gaudy colours of its coloration, everything about cassowary is in excess and reaches the extremes. The cassowary-person is a person of extremes.
Cassowary is a rare, beautiful but dangerous animal. It is enlisted in Red Book of Endangered Species. The cassowary-person is a rare specimen. They are charming, adaptive and know how to use their relatives. For their opportunism toward their associates, the cassowary-people were often described as contaminated with prostitution during the puritan Middle Ages. Their chaotic and inconsistent behaviour, however much they interfere to achieve objectives. They are quite curious, but don’t manage to finish their own undertakings.
Cassowary-people can struck it lucky with the surrounding. They can make their own lives but with the help of others. Generally, they are very good and kind parasites. They are highly adaptable and benefit from marriage or social partners. They can hardly achieve high social status by themselves. 2)It’s worth noticing in this regard that the Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and cassowary-woman Iliana Iotova, which became his vice president, have the strongest astrological marriage aspect – conjunction of the luminaries of opposite polarity.
The degree of cassowary gives elitism, desire for superiority in any respect and huge conceit. It endows the native with good acting skills. The cassowary-person swagger, as if he wears an invisible crown on his head, which his hairstyle often highlight. With the help of his imaginary casque, he puts on airs and forces his way through the human jungle.
Generally, cassowary-people are loners because of their egocentrism, although they can maintain long-term relationships. Despite their long journeys, they may have comparatively stable family life. They have acting talent, but they don’t achieve great results, owing to their pugnacious and selfish character. The second, but still a representative place, is the typical top achievement of this second degree.
Females are larger, more colourful and exhibit male behaviour. They are more aggressive and are the active part in courtship. Unlike males, they are intolerant to rivals of the same sex. Mothers leave brooding and care for offspring to males. After laying, they pass to the next candidate.
Cassowaries are good swimmers. They swim in the sea and swim across wide rivers. Courting finishes into the water where the male followed by female immerses to the neck, then he drives her out of water and mating begins on the beach. Water always plays a great role in life of cassowary-people, but drowning endangers them. 3)One of the general themes in the work of the cassowary-person Iliana Iotova is connected to the Black Sea. With the adoption of her report, Black Sea takes place in the common European policy on maritime affairs and fisheries.
The cassowary-person has a problem with breaking away from the past. ‘A delicate bottle of perfume lies broken, releasing its fragrance (and ghosts from the past).’ The Sabian symbol of the degree describes the favourable chance that impels one to break away from the past, the remembrance of which is still poignant and cherished.*
Old feelings are poignantly remembered even when one enters a new realm of experience. One can abandon the old relationships, but the memory of their essential moments lingers on, perhaps strong and nostalgic. The new and greater realization usually requires a sacrifice of something that has brought loveliness and fragrance in the preceding inferior form of perception. But cassowary-personality is not ready to make it and more or less remains in the grip of the past.4)Dane Rudhyar
A flightless bird embodies the fear of flight and evolutionary stagnation. One of its feet is in the past. Its flashy colouring and bone helmet make it something like a modern dinosaur. The cassowary-person is an elegant relic. He fails to leave the past behind when necessary. The excitement of novelty awakens memories of the grace of the past he has surrendered. This living relic is able to influence conservative and nostalgic audience and to profit from it.
The large size and loud colours of cassowary are mainly social attributes. They are expressions of its desires to be the centre of attention and to tower above others. The cassowary-person is very dependent on social environment. Perching is his wingless flight.
The excitement of the change shuffles historical layers inside the cassowary-person. Torn between past and future, old and new, he combines them in an absurd way. Hampered by the awakened spirit of the past, he is passionate, irascible and ineffective. He attacks and yields unexpectedly and performs contradicting actions. He is a fossil-innovator who mostly knows how to attract attention to himself. This half-hearted reformer progresses in life by arising and directing other’s interest.
The symbol of the degree ‘connection’ describes its propensity to perform moderate and surficial social reorganizations. It shows a person having organizational talents who derives pleasure from communication with others. A typical occupation is an administrative agent or organizer of mass spectacles.
Another symbol describes the degrees as ‘two people engrossed in a game of chess.’ It indicates excellent and penetrating intelligence and ability to sustain concentration episodically. The mind of the cassowary-person is agile and active and relatively easily copes with the most complex problems, but it is also inconstant and uncertain. The degree is a symbol of perceptiveness.
The cassowary-people may have a variety of interests in all humanities, arts and philosophy. They may have the gift of healing. They are conscientious, benevolent and responsible in accordance with their own double standard. However, they are mentally burdened with the world of memories. Adverse horoscopic or mundane factors tend to make them arrogant, vain as peacocks, selfish, conservative, aggressive and authoritarian.
