Loaned Bernstein((b. 25.8.1918)), Sean Connery1)b. 25.81930 and Rob Halford2)b. 25.8.1951 were all born when the Sun was at the one hundred fifty second zodiacal degree. They are Sun degree twins and share the same Sun totem – the long-eared bat.
Astrological influences operate on basic physical and biological levels and equally determine bodily proportions, instinctual nature, temperament and mental dispositions or character. Usually, the Sun is the strongest astrological influence and has the greatest imprinting power. Generally, its contribution to the physical and mental traits of individuals is more than 50% and up to 90%. The Sun’s influence determines both the physical resemblance of the persons to their Sun degree totem, which in this case is the long-eared bat, and the resemblance between persons having the same Sun totem. Our galleries illustrate this.
The similarities between these people and animals stem from the Sun’s zodiacal influence. Clearly, they are not of material or of genetic origin. The ancient civilizations knew and honoured these basic and eternal spiritual qualities, which our rational and narrow-minded civilization still shies away from. Observing these spiritual similarities may be an illuminating experience. One can see that there is something stable in life persisting through the ages. It is the worldly embodiment of certain universal principles and related qualities. It can be noticed in the eyes, intentions, body proportions and gestures of the creatures: men or animals. Although science has not yet recognized this non-genetic cosmic imprinting, it is shown here for anyone who is able to perceive it.
What follows below is not a personal horoscope, but an overview on the qualities that the brightest astrological degree in the horoscopes of the persons presented here implants.
This is not a personal horoscope, but an overview of the related Sun degree.
The long-eared bat (Plecotus) is a likeable flying mouse. Its ears are longer than its head, and have a huge tragus 3)tragus, a protrusion in front of the ear canal orifice, allowing good localization of the source of sounds in the front-rear direction. Its nostrils open upwards, and its eyes are relatively developed. It is nocturnal and comes out later in the evening than other bats.
Bats (microbats) rely on echolocation to navigate and find prey. Long eared, however, have more sensitive hearing and can hunt only through it. They are capable of hearing a flying moth. They use their vision too. They thus outwit the moths that have developed the ability to hide from echolocation and catch them in flight or collect them from the leaves on which they hide.
The ears of long-eared bat-person are often noticeable in some way. They may be large, bent, curved or rise above eyebrows and have large tragus. One can get the feeling that he is transparent to his scanning senses.
Many bat species have developed organs on the muzzle and forehead that are involved in the echolocation. Probably the skull bones of all bats assist the unique skill of theirs. The long-eared bat-persons have well-developed, open and expressive forehead having several rows of spaced wrinkles that they often lift, as if attempting to see or hear better. The lines of their foreheads are reminiscent of the numerous skin ribs in the auricles of the long-eared bats.
The long-eared bat-people love secrets and mysteries. They are not quite of this world. They are secretive and timid, but are always on the alert and appear to know more than others about the subject under observation. They work well and need guidance. Information is flowing down to them. They may even be good secret agents.4)Sean Connery was the first actor to perform the secret agent James Bond and starred in seven films about him between 1962 and 1983
The degree of the long-eared bat is considered good. It implants a thin sensitivity and good intuition. It increases the possibilities of understanding life and nature. It gives magnificent, sympathetic and helpful doctors who understand the nature of the illness, as well as good scientists and specialists in various fields.
The long-eared bat-people are inquisitive, curious, insightful and self-confident. They combine musical and even creative artistic abilities with scientific ones and can succeed in science, literature and journalism. They can do a lot with their own hands and heads. Their free time is too scarce because they constantly take care of something or someone. Their families are large. “Lingerie on the dryer” is a symbol of the degree illustrating this.
“Orderly” is another symbol of the degree. It indicates a person who is unusually neat, methodical and precise, perhaps to the point of overdoing. This is the degree of doctors, pharmacists, scholars and jewellers and diamond cutters.
“A great white cross dominates the landscape” is the Sabian symbol of degree. It suggests that accurate judgment requires isolation and can elevate. Only suffering and seclusion can bring wisdom and compassion. It also indicates a passion for things mysterious and hardly perceivable.
“The dull moon in the night sky: one half of it, together with the stars surrounding it, is clearly visible, the other is hidden by dark clouds that announce the coming storm.” is another symbol of the degree5)Kozminsky. It indicates a person with significant abilities who has something to do with darkness and secrecy. It designates threat and the possibility of getting involved in unpleasant situations and fuss. One born under this degree must avoid suspicious adventures, guard against deception and betrayal, and do their best to lead a peaceful and moderate life.
The Long-eared bat-man seems mystical because of its thin receptivity, but he is actually quite rational. The great resolution of his senses and thought makes him over-suited and inhumanly effective in the eyes of others.
‘A man peeping around the corner in company of armed men, who are in act of reconnoitering.’ is another symbol of the degree. It specifies a person who is well adapted to the army and who might succeed in almost every other service.6)Cahrubel It is noteworthy that the situation described by the symbol resembles the human personification of a long-eared bat; someone who is on the alert but barely sees and relies heavily on hearing and who has good listening assistants. This is to show once again that totems are the most important descriptions of degrees.
‘A solitary rock jutting up from a waste of sand.‘ is another old symbol of the degree.7)Sepharial It describes a very stable, constant and serious character that is cold, mathematical, hard and very just in thinking, inclined to agnosticism or atheism, but lacks the emotional qualities that make life more vital than a problematic theory. He is somewhat indolent and wanting in direction and purpose, but he has great power of resistance and endurance. He is likely to remain poor, at least emotionally, because of that.
The long-eared bat-persons have a dry and cool nature. They are serious to clumsiness, and their endurance borders on stubbornness and manic conceit. They are endowed with great steadfastness, and prudence, but not with the deep impulses of human feelings. Their resulting attitude is mostly apathetic, sometimes of fatalistic indolence, and sluggish.8)Carelli
This is one of the degrees that produces fatalists or suicides living in a fateful menace.9)The ascendant of Karl Krafft, Hitler’s astrologer At unfavourable horoscopic or life circumstances, the degree imparts too much dreaminess, weakness and inertia, and brings about gossip, intrigue, defamation, persecution and abandonment.
Rob Halford, the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Judas Priest is born of the day of the long-eared bat and is famed for his powerful wide-ranging voice. AllMusic says that Halford’s voice: “is able to effortlessly alternate between a throaty growl and an ear-splitting falsetto”. Noticeably, bats are known for the wide spectrum of sounds that they produce. Halford’s music and stage ambience is mystical, darkish and fatalistic. He demonstrates a militant appearance. He wears black leather clothes and can hardly be spotted without his dark glasses. All of these qualities of him are reminiscent of bats’ traits. Judas Priest has a pitchfork cross emblem, which may be winged or not and resembles the Sabian symbol of the degree of the long-eared bat. Both the name and the front cover of the first typical album of the group Sad Wings of Destiny (1976) also exhibit a pretty battish character.
